TAB Applauds Easing of Travel Restrictions

Austin —The Texas Association of Business (TAB) applauds the Biden Administration’s decision to ease travel restrictions along the Canadian and Mexican border that have been in place since March 2020.

“As Texas’ largest trading partner, easing travel restrictions with Mexico is important to the state’s full economic recovery. This change in policy is especially critical for our border communities, which have been clobbered by these restrictions,” said TAB CEO Glenn Hamer. “They are heavily reliant on our friends from Mexico shopping in our stores, eating in our restaurants, and staying at our hotels. We urge the Administration to provide adequate resources and staff toensure a smooth reopening when the restrictions are lifted."

TAB is the voice for Texas businesses, representing more than 1,500 members and 200 local chambers. United to protect the business-friendly climate, TAB works on the frontlines, in a bi-partisan manner, to deliver real solutions that promote economic development in Texas.
