Austin — Today, the Texas Association of Business (TAB) announced Massey Villarreal as the Chairman of the TAB Board for the 2023 term:
“TAB is fortunate to have an economic development expert like Massey Villarreal as our Chairman, especially as we head into a legislative session where lawmakers will determine a replacement for Chapter 313,” said TAB CEO Glenn Hamer. “Massey is one of the architects behind the economic model that made Texas the Best State for Business: low taxes, light regulations, and powerful economic development tools. His wisdom and expertise will serve us well.”
Named one of the 100 Most Influential Hispanics in the U.S. by Hispanic Business Magazine, Massey Villarreal is highly regarded for his work in economic development, having served three Texas governors in appointed positions and as Chairman of a local, state, and national Hispanic chamber.
“As the Texas State Chamber, I want to help TAB move Texas up a notch in every category. Let’s get stronger on trade, protect our economic climate, and push back against federal overreach,” said TAB Chairman Massey Villarreal. “And we can’t leave small business behind. As TAB Chairman, I want to harness the connectivity of our chamber network to grow our capacity for small business in Texas.”
