AUSTIN, TX – As the Texas State Chamber, Texas Association of Business (TAB), released the following statement celebrating House Bill 2127 going into effect:
“The Texas Regulatory Consistency Act creates a more predictable regulatory climate so that employers can focus on creating jobs and serving their communities, rather than spending countless hours and resources on ever-changing regulations," said TAB CEO Glenn Hamer.
TAB launched the Texas Freedom Litigation Center to provide continuous support to HB 2127 as it's challenged in the court system. Ensuring a reasonable and consistent regulatory climate is a top priority for TAB, and HB 2127 achieves that goal, while also ensuring cities and counties retain their authority to address local issues.
The bill's author, Chairman Dustin Burrows, went on "Beyond the Bite," a podcast by TAB Board Treasurer, Eddie Aldrete, to explain what the bill does and does not do. Give it a listen here. TAB CEO Glenn Hamer was published in El Paso Matters, outlining the business community's case for regulatory consistency. Read the column here.
